Volvo C30 Machine & Interior Enhancement

May 5, 2011   //   by Adam   //   Portfolio  //  No Comments

Recently I had the pleasure of doing this gorgeous Volvo C30. The plan was to enhance the paintwork via a rotary machine polisher, protect the paintwork and trims followed by a full interior cleanse.

The package performed on this vehicle was Gold + Full Interior

On Arrival

Closer Inspection

Some light soiling nothing too bad.

First up was the wheels.

Alloys Before

The alloys were treated with a non-acidic wheel brightener and then protected with a high durability alloy wheel sealant. The arches and tyres were cleansed with an all purpose cleaner and then dressed.

Alloys After

Next up the exhaust tip.

Exhaust Before

Some carbon build up – the tip was treated with a metal polish and then protected with a hi-temp wax.

Exhaust After

The vehicle was snow foamed and all the nooks and crannies were agitated with a soft haired brush:

Was the vehicle had been washed using the usual Refined Details methods (2 bucket method, snow foam, etc), it was time to clay the vehicle to remove any bonded contaminants to create a perfect polishing surface.

The bonnet mostly returned sap:

whilst the lower areas of the vehicle returned nasty tar deposits:

The vehicle was masked up ready for machine polishing – the treatment was a 1-step enhancing machine polish as the defects were not too severe.

Pre-Machine Polishing

Some light-medium swirls and one notable light scratch across the passenger door.

Post-Machine Polishing

Bonnet still had some remaining deeper scratches/swirls but still a vast vast improvement on what they were before:

Before moving onto the interior the owner handed me a cheeky bit of birthday cake… don’t mind if I do :)

Interior Before

Not overly bad – just a few stains on the drivers seat were the main concern. The seats and carpets were shampooed and treated with a Fabric Guard to protect the material, whilst also making it easier to maintain in the future – additionally the plastics were cleaned and dressed, and the glass cleaned.

Interior After

Once completed the paintwork received protection from Valentines Concours Wax, as well as the plastics/rubbers being dressed and glass work being treated.
