Irmscher Astra SRi with Valentines Concours Wax

Sunday afternoon I had a full hand enhancement detail  to complete on a very nice pearlescent blue Astra 2.2 SRi with a complete Irmscher kit.

The package performed on this vehicle was Silver.

The car was in very good condition already and was a real credit to its owner. He just wished for that extra “wow” factor in terms of depth and shine, as well as high levels of protection on his paintwork. The only real problem areas that were noted were the front bumper, wing mirrors (Flies from a long trip back from the Cotswold’s) and the charring of the exhaust.

The vehicle was firstly rinsed and snow foamed to loosen and remove the majority of the grime before washing and claying the vehicle:

The snow foam didn’t remove all the flies and bugs so a special fly remover was applied, agitated with a brush, and left to dwell before jet washing the remains and continuing with the wash and clay.

The alloys were covered in some brake dust.

They were then treated with a wheel brightener, a wheel sealant wax was applied and the tyres were coated in a matt finish.

After

Now onto the exhaust which was looking very sorry for itself, the owner advised me that it had been fitted 2 years before he purchased the vehicle, and it looked like it hadn’t even been touched since!

The exhaust was treated with a super degreaser to remove the charring and agitated with a wire wool brush. The pipes were then polished up with a metal polish and sealed with a hard wearing sealant wax.

After

The bodywork was pampered with a pre-wax cleanser to rejuvenate the lustre and depth and was then sealed and waxed with Valentines Concours Wax. The plastics and rubbers were dressed and the windows were treated with a rain repellent cleaner and sealant.

The owner then kindly took me for a short drive to Furzton Lake in Milton Keynes to take some photos.
